Stephanie Schmid was born in 1975 in Munich. She completed her law studies at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich with the first state exam in 2000. In parallel, she studied economics at the University of Hagen. In 2002, she completed her second state exam in law and established herself as an attorney. In the same year, she founded her own law firm in Munich-Schwabing with an emphasis on tax law. Since 2007 the firm has been located in Munich, Sophienstraße.

As a result of experience in consulting and rehabilitating debtors, Schmid founded the "Project Schulschwein" in 2011. The project is a school program for the prevention of juvenile indebtedness. Starting in the first grade, children learn age-appropriate means of using and spending money responsibly.
